The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will return for a second season this fall.

Jane Lynch, who was recently nominated for playing Sophie Lennon on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, will reprise her role on the hit Amazon series.

Lynch will appear in two episodes of Season 2 after appearing in one in Season 1. She played a veteran comedienne who Rachel Brosnahan’s Miriam “Midge” Maisel wants to open for.

The guest spot earned Lynch an Emmy nomination, her second for this year. She also earned a nod for hosting Hollywood Game Night on NBC. In all, she has been nominated ten times, having taken home four. She won once for playing Sue Sylvester on Glee, one for playing Olivia Vanderstein in Dropping the Soap, and two for hosting Hollywood Game Night.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel received 14 Emmy nominations last month for its first season. This includes nods for Best Comedy Series, Lead Actress for Brosnahan, Supporting Actress for Alex Borstein’s Susie Myerson and Supporting Actor for Tony Shalhoub’s Abe Weissman.

Created and written by Amy Sherman-Palladino of Gilmore Girls fame, Mrs. Maisel takes place in the 1950s. It’s about a Manhattan housewife whose husband suddenly leaves her and their two children for his secretary.

Midge flies off the handle after his departure, and she shows up at the Gaslight Café in her nightgown and goes on a long comedic rant that is mistaken for a stand-up routine. Susie Myerson discovers her and represents her while she takes her act to a more professional level.
