Netflix is looking to increase its sci-fi material with the addition of three new shows!

Netflix is known for creating worldwide phenomenon Stranger Things but it doesn’t have many other sci-fi originals. Well, that is about to change because three new shows have been ordered and one will star Kate Bosworth (yes!).

According to Deadline, the shows will be The I-Land starring Bosworth (Blue Crush), Natalie Martinez (Under The Dome), and Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike); October Faction based on Steve Niles’ comics; and Warrior Nun by the Manga novels.

Netflix has ordered ten episodes of October Faction which will be created/executive produced by Krypton’s Damian Kindler. Based on the IDW comic book series, October Faction will follow two monster hunters, Fred, and Deloris Allen, who return home with their two children, following the death of Fred’s father–and struggle with keeping their identity a secret.

The I-Land will have seven episodes with Bosworth taking on the role of producer. The series will follow a group of people who wake up to find that they are on an island with no memory of how they got there. Their journey to get home will prove to be difficult as they face emotional and psychological challenges along the way.

Warrior Nun, created and executive produced by Ghost Wars Simon Barry, will have 10 total episodes. The series tells the story of a 19-year old woman who wakes up in a morgue with an artifact embedded into her back and an opportunity to live life again. She soon learns that she is part of an order that has to fight demons on Earth.
