The iconic world of The Chronicles of Narnia is heading to Netflix!

The Chronicles of Narnia is being reimagined on Netflix and it truly sounds magical. The multi-year deal was made with the C.S. Lewis Company for a new series and multiple films that will bring life to Lewis’ infamous work, according to Deadline.

Netflix will be working with Entertainment One to tell the stories of The Chronicles of Narnia universe and has signed on War Dogs’ Mark Gordon, Douglas Gresham, and Vincent Sieber as executive producers for the projects.

This is quite the iconic move for the series as no one company has held the rights to all seven books before this, and leave it to Netflix to be the first to make it happen. The Chronicles of Narnia has been a part of many generations and seeing the stories come to the Netflix screen will be a treat for people of all ages, including those who have never seen this world before.

The Chief Content Officer of Netflix, Ted Sarandos, conveyed his excitement over this project and looks forward to being the home for stories that mean so much to so many people. The Narnia movies between 2005-2010 made over $1.5 billion worldwide, so it’s safe to say the following is loyal and strong.

The deal will allow for the creation of a Narnia cinematic universe covering both TV and film and one that has been in the making for quite some time. Given that Amazon has already their fantasy blockbuster with The Lord of The Rings series, it will be interesting to see how Netflix’s decision to take this project on will compare.
