Veronica Mars: Enrico Colantoni will return to reprise his role as Papa Mars

Papa Mars, aka Enrico Colantoni, is set to reprise his role as Papa Mars for Hulu’s limited series revival of Veronica Mars.

Veronica Mars is on a roll with all of its recent announcements with the latest being that Papa Mars will return for the revival. Enrico Colantoni will join the rest of the cast that has signed to join the limited series revival, according to Deadline.

Fans will remember him as Veronica Mars’ father as well as the head of Mars Investigation. The return of so many beloved characters is hyping the revival’s eventual premiere which is set for some time in 2019 on Hulu.

Creator Rob Thomas is returning for the revival and will be writing the first episode (yay!). So what is the premise of Veronica Mars when it returns? During spring break, people start getting murdered in Neptune which affects the tourist industry.

Mars Investigation will be hired by parents of one of the murder victims and Veronica will be front and center in helping to solve the case. In the eight-episode revival, Veronica will work to handle the struggles between the wealthy and the working class in the midst of the murders.

Thomas will be executive producing alongside Kristen Bell, Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Dan Etheridge. Colantoni appeared in the series’ original run from 2004-2007 for its three-season run as well as the Veronica Mars movie that was funded by a Kickstarter campaign.

While we wait for the revival to return, you can catch Colantoni in upcoming Mister Rogers film starring Tom Hanks as well as Last Night In Old City starring Nicholas Cage. Most recently he appeared in CBS All Access’ The Good Fight, Netflix’s Travelers, and the Canadian mini-series Bad Blood.
