The Byrde family saga will continue as Netflix renews Ozark for a third season.

Ozark will be back for another season so viewers worry not, we will see how the aftermath of the season 2 finale plays out when the series returns. This Jason Bateman directed and executive produced drama follows the Byrde family as they face drug lords, mafia, and murder out in the Ozarks.

Season 2 set up quite the complicated mess for Marty (Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney), and by the end of it, we were left quite concerned as to what lies ahead in their future. The decision to renew Ozark was presumably quite the easy one given the critical acclaim and recognition it has received since its premiere.

The series has been a renewed for a 10-episode third season according to Deadline and executive producer and showrunner Chris Mundy is set to return. While the first season had more buzz about it than the second, the story of Ozark had to naturally continue because of the hype and acclaim surrounding it.

During the second season, the Byrdes faced the dark trenches of the drug cartel just as life was starting to get some stability. With their attention diverted between their broken home and the dangerous reality of their business, season 2 of Ozark made for some O-M-G moments.

Jason Bateman took to Twitter to announce the renewal of the series.

We’re concerned for Marty too, Jason. And after the season 2 finale, it’s safe to say things are about to get really, really complicated for him.

Bateman’s production company, Aggregate Films alongside Media Rights Capital, are the creative forces behind bringing this series to life. He also directed episodes in the first two seasons, and we hope that we see more of that going into season 3!
