Marshmallows! Stay calm and carry on, the Veronica Mars revival just added J.K. Simmons to the cast!
The Veronica Mars revival is getting cooler by the minute and the latest piece of news that will have long-time fans and those new to the series celebrating.
Whiplash’s J.K. Simmons is all set to star in a recurring role of the revival and his character description has us even more excited.
According to a report released by Deadline, Simmons will be playing a character named Clyde Prickett, an ex-con who previously served time for racketeering. How does he fit into the context of the Veronica Mars revival?
While serving time, he will be provided protection to a big-time, wealthy real estate developer in Neptune, Big Dick Casablancas, when Big Dick first arrived in prison. And now that Clyde is out as a free man, he works as Big Dick’s fixer.
Simmons’ character, Clyde, is a well-connected man with a network of ex-cons in his arsenal and quite the dangerous man to know and be associated with, which will surely present a challenge in the storyline of the revival.
Kristen Bell, Enrico Colantoni and Jason Dohring are all set to return for the Veronica Mars revival which will consist of eight episodes and premiere in 2019. The premise of the revival will revolve around spring breakers getting murdered in Neptune which negatively impacts the tourist industry in Neptune.
Mars Investigation is brought in to help solve the case after the parents of one of the victims hire them, and Veronica is thrust into a world of mystery and murder as she tries to solve the case. Sounds like it’s going to be epic, Marshmallows!
Original series creator Rob Thomas is returning and will be executive producing alongside Bell, Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Dan Etheridge.
