The Society: Netflix's young adult drama rounds out casting

The cast for Netflix’s The Society is all ready to go–and there’s a long list of talent that will be joining the young adult drama series.

The Society is gearing up to be pretty darn epic. In a report released by Deadline, a whopping 14 individuals were added to the cast. The Netflix series will be 10 episodes and is written by Party of Five’s Chris Keyser and directed by The Amazing Spiderman’s Marc Webb. The series is already off to a great start, if you’re asking us.

The series is a modern-day version of Lord of the Flies. And if you don’t remember this classic story, don’t worry, we got you. The 1954 novel by William Golding followed a group of boys that got stuck on an island. As time went on, it was up to them to set the rules for how they were to live together and create a government to set the laws.

In a similar vein, The Society will essentially have the same idea with a few key changes. First off, they end up in a town that is identical to the town they’re from. They will have to work together to figure out a way home and of course, create a system that sets ground rules during their time there.
