The popular NBC comedy, The Good Place, will continue its journey through the afterlife and beyond for at least another season.

All mortals and demons rejoice – NBC renewed The Good Place for a fourth season! I don’t know about you, but I’m forking excited!

The hit comedic series, now airing on Thursday nights at 8:30 PM, was created by Mike Schur. According to Deadline, we don’t know how many episodes we will see from Season 4, but if it follows the lead of the previous three seasons, it will have 13 episodes. That’s because Schur created the show as a limited run.

Quite honestly, I think that makes for stronger content and more clever comedy.

The Good Place stars Kristen Bell as Eleanor, a recently deceased human who arrives in a heaven-like place by mistake. She meets her “soulmate” Chidi (William Jackson Harper), a philosophy professor who she tells her “secret.” They come up with a plan for him to teach her how to be good so that she can earn herself in the Good Place.

Ted Danson plays Michael, the architect of the neighborhood they live in. But spoiler alert, he’s actually a demon, and he is really torturing them.

Other supporting players include D’Arcy Carden as Janet, Jameela Jamil as TahaniAl-Jamil, and Manny Jacinto as Jason Mendoza.

The show has garnered both critical and public acclaim. Danson was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Maya Rudolph was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series at last year’s Primetime Emmy Awards. Notably, the show itself and Bell were snubbed. I’m still not over it.

The Good Place is NBC’s highest rated comedy series, with 4.6 million weekly viewers and a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
