Harley Quinn: Kaley Cuoco shares her excitement over upcoming DC series
Harley Quinn is heading to the DC Universe in 2019.
While DCU subscribers have only had one original series to watch this year but 2019 looks like it’ll be full of exciting new content. Starting with the new animated take on Harley Quinn, voiced by The Big Bang Theory star, Kaley Cuoco. She took to Instagram to express her excitement over sharing her version of the character with fans.
The post didn’t share any new footage of the upcoming show, but a teaser the DC Universe had released earlier this month regarding the new original series. This should put fans at ease who were worried they would have to wait a while to see some new content.
The caption on Kuoco’s post didn’t reveal much about the series either. However, earlier teasers for the show promised Harley Quinn would follow the titular character throughout her pursuit to be the “Queenpin” of Gotham City. Alan Tudyk is also starring in the series and voicing the Joker, Harley’s on-again-off-again flame.
"Working on #harleyquinn has been an insane blast, we can’t wait for you to see it! It’s all coming at you in 2019… #adulthumor"
Kuoco’s inclusion of the adult humor hashtag seems to confirm Harley Quinn will be aimed towards adults and not children. This won’t come as a huge surprise, considering DC Comics has been pushing for a darker and more mature take on their characters.
The DC Universe has a big slate of shows set to debut sometime in 2019. Doom Patrol, the spin-off of Titans, is expected to be the first to premiere. While other shows like Swamp Thing and Stargirl should also be released in 2019. Sadly, early speculation has Harley Quinn slated for a fall release, but nevertheless, it should be out next year.
