Are you pumped for the Game of Thrones spin-off series? Wait until you hear about where they are filming it!

Game of Thrones is ending this year, but fans don’t have to mourn for too long considering a spin-off series is in the works. It may not be coming out for a while but production is set to begin soon, and the cast is in place. Along with all of that, the filming locations have been revealed–and it is already feeling as epic as its predecessor.

In the spring of 2019, the production on the Game of Thrones spin-off will begin in the Canary Islands and then make its way to Northern Ireland during the fall. The Belfast Telegraph reported that staff located in the Paint Halls in Belfast will be working in two of the islands specifically–Tenerife and Gran Canaria. After that, it’s back to Belfast!

For the upcoming eighth season of Game of Thrones, there were plans to film in the Canary Islands. While that did not work out, we will get the opportunity to admire their beauty in the prequel. It’s safe to say that the folks of Northern Ireland are likely happy to see some form of the series continue to film there.

Filming such big budget shows in any location does wonders for the economy there. And with shows like Game of Thrones, that has already been the case. We are certain that the prequel will bring just as much success and continue to boost and contribute to the economy of it’s filming locations.
