9 Netflix original series to binge watch in February 2019

February is often oversaturated with Valentine’s Day romantic comedies and depressing chick flicks.

While it still has it’s fair share of those offerings, Netflix has made February 2019 the month of crime dramas! You won’t be drowned in sappy romantic dramas unless you want to be, because Netflix has everything from Scandinavian crime dramas to Italian crime dramas!

Don’t like those? Try a Belgian crime drama. Want something to watch for Black History Month? There is also a crime docuseries for that. There’s other stuff too, but its mostly crime dramas.

Russian Doll – February 1

Russian Doll is like a modern take on Groundhog Day, where a young woman named Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) attends a party in her honor and dies repeatedly, only to wake up and relive the same day over again.

The series was created by Amy Pohler, Natasha Lyonne, and Leslye Headland, so it has excellent comedy credentials and is already getting rave reviews.

Lyonne is the real spearhead of the series, not only for acting as the lead character but also serving as an executive producer with writing and directing credits on the Netflix original series.

If you don’t know who she is, you probably know her best as Nicky Nichols on Orange Is the New Black. All I can say is that this looks fantastic.
