Julia Roberts may be returning to Amazon for another series, and no, it’s not Homecoming.
Julia Roberts never ceases to amaze her fans and her beauty and talent continue to be inspirational and mindblowing. Seriously, did anyone else see her at the Academy Awards last weekend? Currently, she is in talks to return to Amazon for a series called Charlotte Walsh Likes To Win, which she may also executive produce. The limited series will be based on Jo Piazza’s novel with Roberts’ production company backing it, per Deadline.
Jon Robin Baitz is the creative mind adapting the novel into a series, and given his resume, he’s just the person to do it. Not only is Baitz a playwright, but he is also a two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist, and has worked on shows for ABC and NBC. It’s safe to say the adaptation is in the right hands and will be brought to justice.
Julia Roberts recently starred in Amazon’s Homecoming based on Gimlet Media’s podcast. It comes as no surprise that she wants to continue the relationship with the streaming service after the success of the series. Unfortunately, Roberts will not be returning for the second season, but we can still hold out some hope.
Charlotte Walsh Likes To Win follows the story of a woman determined to make it all the way to the top–come hell or high water. Leaving behind a job in Silicon Valley, she goes to pursue her political dreams by moving to Pennslyvania and running for Senate. Along the way, Charlotte discovers the difficult and unsaid secrets of being in a campaign and deals with the toll it takes on her and her family.
I don’t know about all of you, but I can already imagine Julia Roberts in this role. It sounds pretty perfect for her, don’t you think? While there are no confirmed reports as of yet, we will definitely be keeping an eye out for any updates!
