Fear The Walking Dead is returning in June–and bringing with it new dangers, new obstacles, and a familiar face.

Fear The Walking Dead had an exciting presence at WonderCon over the weekend bringing exciting updates for the upcoming fifth season, as reported by Deadline. Not only did they announce the premiere date, but a new trailer was released to give us a first look into what’s headed our way in the series’ fifth season (can you believe we’re already at season five?!).

Unlike other trailers, the season 5 trailer of Fear The Walking Dead does not shy away from revealing all kinds of things. There is way more walker action, gruesome kills, and pandemonium all over the place. But there’s one very exciting thing that the trailer reveals–another The Walking Dead crossover.

At the end of the trailer, Morgan is surprised to see a familiar face in his new neck of the woods in the form of Dwight, who was basically exiled by Daryl. It turns out the walk took him all the way to the Fear The Walking Dead crew which will certainly make for some exciting moments in season 5.

This past Saturday at WonderCon, Lennie James, Colman Domingo, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Danay Garcia, Garret Dillahunt, Maggie Grace, Jenna Elfman, Alexa Nisenson, and Austin Amelio all attended the panel to dish about the upcoming season which was moderated by superfan Yvette Nicole Brown. Along with the premiere date and Amelio announcement, fans got one additional surprise–the return of Ruben Blades aka Daniel Salazar. Blades showed up at the panel surprising fans as he shared the news of Daniel Salazar’s return to Fear The Walking Dead.

Going into season five, the group’s major objective will be to make the best of the crazy world they now live in by seeking out any survivors. At the head of this hope and optimism is Morgan (of course) who is eager to guide everyone down the path of righteousness and spreading good. The team encapsulates this thought process as a way of making up for the sins of their past.

This is all easier said than done, of course, and as always, challenges will be presented along the way that will make the group question everything about them and others. Mark your calendars for June 2nd and be sure to check out the trailer above!
