On My Block season 2, episode 9 recap: Chapter Nineteen

Ceaser nearly ends up making a grave mistake potentially rocking the world of On My Block forever.

On My Block fans, did you hold your breath as Ceaser held the gun to Latrelle’s face? It was such a frightening moment and made me question everything about him. Luckily for him, Chivo’s gun wasn’t loaded but there is something to be said about the fact that he pulled the trigger.

And as a result, while Ceaser tries to run away, the Prophets start running after him. The chase feels neverending and almost results in Ceaser getting caught by them. Desperate, he tries to appeal to Oscar to give him refuge but he refuses. Its Santos over everything, even family.

After everything with Amber, Mario finally decides to go back to school which gives Ruby his old room back. It’s difficult for him to just strut back in though because of all the traumatizing memories it brings back. And we can’t blame the guy.

At this point in the season, Ceaser has run out of all options. He doesn’t have a family to turn to anymore, and his friends can’t help him as much as requires. So he decides that he’s going to run away and start his life over again. Everyone offers to give their share of the Rollerworld money, but he declines it. He just wants to leave this life behind.

For the sake of a romantic gesture, Monse decides she’s going to run away with him and shows up at the bus station as he begins to board. But to prevent her from leaving her life behind, Ceaser chooses that moment to reveal he slept with Paula. The look on Monse’s face will haunt me to this day, it’s just too heartbreaking. Looks like she’ll be going to boarding school as Monty wanted.
