Spring is here and Netflix has a new slate of exciting original series to binge!

Netflix is releasing so many new original series this month that it might be difficult to know which is worth your time and which to make a priority. Even after sorting through over 50 titles coming this May, you’re left with 15 of the best to make it easier to prioritize and schedule your bingeing schedule.

Dead to Me – May 3

This series, written by Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls) and produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (Anchorman), is billing itself as a dark comedy but early reviews can’t quite pin down the show’s uneven tone. Part heartwarming buddy comedy, part crime thriller, Christina Applegate stars as Jen, a woman who recently lost her husband in a hit and run accident. She meets the quirky and mysterious Judy (Linda Cardellini) at a grief support group and the two form an unlikely friendship.

While the trailer is full of frolicking and fun between the two women, there seems to be a dark mystery afoot, not just about Jen’s husband’s death but about the possibly unstable Jen. James Marsden’s character claims that “wherever Judy goes, chaos tends to follow.” My totally uninformed guess is that it was Judy who killed Jen’s husband and then intentionally befriended her at the support group. Let me know if I’m right.
