Netflix’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance continues to make impressive additions to its stellar voice cast. The Dark Crystal prequel series has cast Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Benedict Wong (Avengers: Endgame), Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians), Sigourney Weaver (Aliens), Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and The Wasp), and Dave Goelz (The Dark Crystal) in supporting roles.

They join a cast that already includes Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Nathalie Emmanuel as the Gelfling protagonists, Harvey Fierstein, Mark Hamill, Ralph Ineson, Jason Isaacs, Keegan-Michael Key, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Simon Pegg, and Andy Samberg as the Skeksis and Mystics, and Caitriona Balfe, Helena Bonham Carter, Harris Dickinson, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, and Alicia Vikander as supporting Gelflings.

While the new cast is full of exciting additions to the series, a notable name is that of voice actor and puppeteer Dave Goelz, who was in the original 1982 feature. While the name may not be familiar, even casual Jim Henson fans will likely recognize his famous characters. Goelz’s is probably best known as The Great Gonzo, but also performs other muppets like scientist Bunsen Honeydew and the heckler Waldorf.

It seems he will not be reprising his roles from the original film (Fizzgig, a friendly monster and Garthim Master) but will be performing a new original character called Baffi. The further additions to cast appear to be playing more auspicious roles such as Benedict Wong’s The General, Sigourney Weaver’s The Myth Speaker, and Awkwafina’s The Collector.
