CBS All Access: Keegan-Michael Key to join cast of No Activity
By Luke Lucas
CBS All Access adds cast ahead of new season of No Activity. Keegan-Michael Key and Dylan McDermott will be recurring characters. We’ve got the details!
No Activity is true to its name. The show is a cop comedy comprised of mostly two person relationship scenes where the characters are sitting. All of the characters are low level players on both sides of the law during a major drug sting.
No Activity was created by Patrick Brammall (The Letdown) and Trent O’Donnell (A.P. Bio). It stars Brammall and Tim Meadows (The Goldbergs). Other cast members include Amy Sedaris (At Home with Amy Sedaris), Sunita Mani (GLOW), Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and J.K. Simmons (Counterpart).
Per a report from Deadline, Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele) and Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story) have been added as recurring characters for season three.
At the end of last season, Brammall and Meadows’ characters made a bad drug bust which resulted in them being busted down from detectives to beat cops. This creates the opportunity for many more characters to interact with the stars on a weekly basis. That’s where Key and McDermott come in. Per the same Deadline report, Hawkins, Indiana’s favorite son Joe Kerry (Stranger Things) and the hilarious Paul Pell (A.P. Bio) are also joining the cast in guest starring roles.
CBS All Access premiered No Activity in November of 2017. I can’t find any ratings for the show, which is common for streaming services. The first season scored a critic rating of 70% on 10 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. The same season scored an 83% audience rating on 23 reviews. There is no available score the second season. But, the show is doing well enough to have been renewed for the upcoming third season back in March, per Deadline. There’s no word on when the new season will premiere. But, based on the first two seasons, I’d look for the show in mid November of this year.
Are you looking forward to the third season of No Activity? Does the addition Key and McDermott put the show on your radar? Let’s discuss in the comments!
