Dead to Me: Natalie Morales joins the cast for season 2
A new face is headed to Dead to Me for season 2!
Natalie Morales is reportedly joining the cast of the hit Netflix show. Variety announced the actress has booked a recurring role in Dead to Me season 2. The series, starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini, was must-watch television this year and its sophomore run is already expected to be equally impressive.
Morales will be playing newcomer, Michelle, who befriends Cardellini’s Judy. She’s described as easy-going, charming, and quite amusing while remaining “down-to-earth”. Michelle and Judy will bond at the latter’s assisted living facility because Michelle’s mother resides there.
Over the years, Natalie Morales has compiled quite an impressive resume. Television viewers will recognize her from her roles on Parks and Recreation, Trophy Wife, The Grinder, Santa Clarita Diet, and Abby’s. She’s also been in the feature films Battle of the Sexes and Stuber as well as the upcoming movies The Little Things and Happily.
Dead to Me season 1 focused on Applegate’s Jen, who was struggling to cope with becoming a widow. She spends the majority of her time trying to figure out who murdered her husband in a hit-and-run before meeting the warm and free-spirited Judy. The dark comedy follows their unlikely friendship as well as the secrets they both want to stay hidden.
It received a little awards recognition this year with Christina Applegate landing a nomination at the Emmys.
Netflix has not released a return date for the series yet. However, Dead to Me will most likely have new episodes sometime next year.
