Apple dropped a trailer for the M. Night Shyamalan thriller, Servant. It’s creepy and has an Omen/Rosemary’s Baby vibe. We’ve got the details!

The trailer for the Apple TV thriller Servant has a perfect scene structure. We are introduced to the Turner’s. Sean (Toby Kebbell) and Dorothy (Lauren Ambrose) are an idealized version of a certain kind of perfect couple. They have a young son named Jericho. Life is getting hectic, so the Turner’s hire a nanny named Leanne Grayson (Nell Tiger Free). She’s young and, according to Sean and friend Julian (Rupert Grint), a little creepy. That’s when things take a turn.

Sean walks up to the crib and picks young Jericho up by the feet and walks with the baby dangling from his side. Is Sean a killer? Is he part of a cult? Is he just a profoundly bad parent? Nope. The real Jericho died when he was 13 weeks old. The baby Sean is holding is a doll. When we see the doll, it’s kind of obvious that it’s a doll. Why would you hire a nanny for a doll? Why is Leanne so attentive to this fake Jericho?

Apparently, Dorothy was so distraught after the death of her baby she needed to be hypnotized into believing this doll was the real Jericho. Or something is done to Dorothy to make her believe. At one point, Sean considers what would happen if Dorothy wakes up.

As for Leanne, there is an old, ominous voice that asks “Do you know what you’ve let in your house?” This is said as Leanne peers down from a staircase and rocks back and forth. Her head and torso almost looks to be partially animated like a cartoon. Is she the servant who has been sent to watch over this doll? Is this doll receiving so much love that radiates from so much grief that it will be brought to life by some force?
