The A List season 2 will happen without BBC!

While both Netflix and BBC produced the teen drama for season 1, the British broadcaster is pulling the plug for season 2. Deadline reports Netflix will go ahead and produce The A List alone despite BBC deciding against it.

Co-creator and writer, Nina Metivier confirmed when speaking to Deadline that the show would now be exclusively airing on Netflix.

"“It was picked up by Netflix for worldwide and now they’re looking at a second series.”"

The series revolves around a girl named Mia (Lisa Ambalavanar) who goes to a summer camp for vacation. Unfortunately, her plan to be the “Queen Bee” goes awry when new camper Amber (Ellie Duckles) arrives and turns her time at camp upside down. While the show is considered a teen drama, it explores some dark psychological themes and betrayal.

The A List was created by Metivier and Dan Berlinka. Other than Ambavalanar and Duckles, it stars Savannah Baker, Cian Barry, Eleanor Bennett, Jacob Dudman, Benjamin Nugent, Rosie Dwyer, Jack Kane, Max Lohan, Nneka Okoye, Michael Ward, Georgina Sadler, and Indianna Ryan.

There is no word when The A List is expected to return or how many episodes there will be in its second season. However, season 2 should arrive sometime in 2020 based on when the first season aired. For now, catch up on all thirteen episodes where it currently streams on Netflix.
