The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel audience doubles with season 3
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel had absolutely marvelous ratings this season!
Amazon’s hit comedy surged to new highs according to the latest numbers from Nielsen. Deadline reported The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel more than doubled its audience in season 3 compared to season 2.
The most notable growth is in the premiere viewership numbers on the day they dropped. Season 3 pulled in about 2.1 million viewers on December 6, whereas season 2 had 972,000. Anytime a television show has growth from season to season is a good thing, and definitely has to inspire confidence in Amazon that the comedy is heading in the right direction.
Season 3, overall, had a strong showing in the numbers. According to Nielsen, the premiere episode pulled in a little over 5.5 million viewers after only a week of availability. The entire season had around an average of 3.2 million viewers after one week as well, an incredibly impressive feat considering season 2 had around 2 million.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel also managed to cement its status as Amazon’s highest-rated original. In comparison, season 2 of Jack Ryan averaged around 2.06 million viewers while Maisel easily surpassed that.
Season 3 is also doing another award show circuit, with 2 Golden Globe nominations, 3 Critic Choice Award nominations (and 1 win for Alex Borstein), and 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations. It also received a nomination from the Producers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America, and two nominations from the Writers Guild of America.
