Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin to star in season 10 of American Horror Story.

Just when you thought American Horror Story couldn’t get stranger, it sort of does. On Wednesday, creator Ryan Murphy took to social media to release an official cast announcement for the show’s tenth season. Fans of the series have become accustomed to Murphy’s random videos and sneak peeks every season. Next up, we’ll probably get some super cryptic video giving us hints over what season 10 will be about.

While American Horror Story alums like Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Adina Porter, Billy Lourd, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, and Finn Wittrock are all set to return–we have three more surprises. First off, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are returning to the series after being absent from the series for the first time during season 9.

Their return brings me peace and comfort because they’re the face of the series. Without them, things just don’t feel the same. But that’s not the biggest surprise as far as casting goes for season 10.

According to Deadline, Macaulay Culkin will be a series regular for the upcoming tenth season. As strange and weird as I find this casting, I think it sort of makes perfect sense. If you follow the guy on social media, you know he has the tendency to come off weird and all over the place. That is pretty much a requirement if you’re going to join American Horror Story.

We don’t have any details about the story, plot, season title, premiere date, or character descriptions. As I said before, Murphy will release that information a bit at a time leading right up to whenever the season will premiere.

I’m really hoping that the series finds its footing as it has been quite shaky the last few seasons. I did enjoy 1984 a little bit more than the seasons before it, but it still doesn’t have that American Horror Story allure. You know, just as we got from Aslyum or Murder House. Those seasons were some of the show’s best, and I hope that we can go back to that, at some point.

Here’s to hoping season 10 will give us something to talk about!
