Pieces of Her: Bella Heathcote joins upcoming Netflix series
Bella Heathcote is set to star in Pieces of Her.
Netflix’s upcoming adaptation, Pieces of Her, has found its second star. According to Deadline, Bella Heathcote will join the series and star opposite of the already cast, Toni Collette.
Pieces of Her is based on the hit novel of the same name by Karin Slaughter, and revolves around the Oliver family. When a “random act of violence” takes place in their small town in Georgia, Andy Oliver wants answers. She travels across the country trying to figure out her family’s dark secrets, which might unwittingly involve her mother, Laura.
Bella Heathcote is set to play Andy, a thirty-year-old living at home who is notorious for her own self-sabotage. Her character apparently dropped out of college and is described as “aimless” as she tries to figure out what to do in life. After the violent incident, Andy is forced out of her comfort zone and to fight in the real world. Since her mother is considered well-respected throughout her town, there will undoubtedly be some pressure to live up to her family’s expectations.

Pieces of Her is created by an all-female team consisting of Charlotte Stoudt, Lesli Linka Glatter, Minkie Spiro, and Bruna Papandrea. The eight episode series is also written by Stoudt, who is set to executive produce and showrun the first season as well.
