The Eddy: Damien Chazelle’s Netflix limited series gets a teaser

Check out the first look for Damien Chazelle’s The Eddy!

For fans of La La Land, Netflix’s upcoming limited series might be your new favorite show. Deadline has revealed the first look teaser trailer for The Eddy, the television series from director Damien Chazelle.

The series follows Elliot Udo and his life in Paris. Elliot rose to fame as a talented pianist in New York City, but now he finds himself co-owning a club called The Eddy. With the club struggling and Elliot trying to juggle an on-again-off-again relationship with the lead singer of the house band, Maja, things are bound to get interesting. Especially when his teenage daughter, Julie, shows up on his doorstep and his co-owner, Farid, seems to be practicing some unethical things at the club.

Elliot is played by Moonlight‘s André Holland. The rest of the cast includes Joanna Kulig, Tahar Rahim, Amandla Stenberg, and Leïla Bekhti. Meanwhile, Glen Ballard, the Grammy-winning writer, is onboard to write the music for the series along with Randy Kerber.

Chazelle is set to direct all eight episodes of the limited series and written by Jack Thorne. It was confirmed earlier the show will be multi-lingual and delve into the culture of Paris rather than just use it as a generic setting.

The Eddy is set to make its streaming debut later this spring on May 8.
