Truth Be Told: Apple renews drama series for season 2
Truth Be Told will return for another season!
Apple continues to hand out renewals with its drama, Truth Be Told, next up to earn a second season. Deadline reports the Octavia Spencer series will be back for another season despite originally dubbed a limited series.
According to the article, Octavia Spencer will also return as her character, Poppy Parnell. In the first season, Parnell, a popular podcaster, decides to reopen an investigation regarding an infamous murder after she questions whether the right person was arrested.
Truth Be Told was supposedly going to be a limited series before morphing into an anthology series of sorts. Like Trial & Error or The Sinner, this show will keep the main character but deal with a different case each season.
Octavia Spencer executive produces and stars in the series with Nichelle Tramble Spellman serving as the creator/producer. Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Peter Chernin, Mikkel Norgaard, and Jenno Topping also executive produce.
While critics haven’t been very kind to the series, fans have absolutely adored it. Truth Be Told earned two NAACP Image Award nominations (with one win) for this season.
There is currently no word when production will start or when season 2 is expected to debut. Apple also has not said what the case will be for next season or what cast members will join Octavia Spencer,
