The Boys: Aya Cash stars as Stormfront + season 2 trailer
By Wade Wainio
According to Entertainment Weekly, Aya Cash to join Amazon’s The Boys as Stormfront for season 2. Plus, the teaser trailer is out!
The EW article in question quotes The Boys Antony Starr as saying of her character, Stormfront: “She’s the grenade that gets thrown into Homelander’s world and the world of the Seven.”
Known for the FX/FXX series You’re the Worst, Aya Cash has also appeared in Brotherhood, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Mercy, and The Newsroom. Cash also had roles in films like The Oranges, Winter of Frozen Dreams, Off Jackson Avenue, Begin Again, and The Happy House.
In The Boys comic book series, Stormfront is a male character. That’s not the only thing, however. Stormfront was a Hitler Youth from Nazi Germany, retaining his racist beliefs. It has not been revealed if this Stormfront character is anything like that.

In season 1 of The Boys, Starr’s character, Homelander, was far from being genuinely heroic, most of the time. In fact, the extent of corruption among The Seven and Vought International functioned collectively as the main villain.
However, Aya Cash says Stormfront “can be quite the feminist.” While it’s not entirely clear what that means, it might mean she’s substantially different from the character in the comic book.
The Boys season 2 teaser trailer
Yes, season 2 will happen this year (2020), and there’s already a compelling teaser trailer for it. Just note that there is some violence in it. Then again, if you’ve watched season 1, you have a pretty good idea of what you’re in for.
Ths teaser trailer reminds us that, in many ways, The Boys is one of the edgiest superhero stories out there. If you need your characters edgier than this, you most certainly have some issues. One striking detail of the trailer (aside from its intense pace) is that, from all appearances, The Deep (Chace Crawford) may have a surprising story arc.
While his character started as downright villainous, some depressing and (from his perspective, tragic) circumstances gave him a tragicomic, sympathetic vibe.
Will The Deep continue being such a sleazy guy or have humiliation and drama changed him? Then again, such a question also functions for Homelander, and even for The Boys themselves. At times, The Boys seemed a little better than the superheroes they were fighting. In any case, it looks to be an exciting season.
