When will The Mandalorian Season 2 premiere?

The hit Star Wars spin-off series finally has a return date. Per Variety, The Mandalorian Season 2 will air on Disney Plus on October 30, 2020. The show took the world by storm when it premiered in 2019, and fans will have the opportunity to tune in to more adventures with Mando (Pedro Pascal), Baby Yoda and Cara Dune (Gina Carano).

While many shows have been put on hiatus due to production stoppages, The Mandalorian Season 2 episodes were completed prior to the global lockdown, allowing showrunner Jon Favreau and his team to finish post-production remotely.

What to expect in The Mandalorian Season 2?

The first season of the show ended with Mando and Baby Yoda off on new adventures. While possible storylines have remained under wraps, we can speculate that Mando will locate more of his people and perhaps find a safe place for The Child to live.

The Mandalorian Season 2 will also see the return of fan-favorite character Boba Fett. Played by Temuera Morrison, who starred as Jango Fett and the clones from the Clone Army in the Star Wars films, the character will be featured in a cameo role.

Another character making the shift from one format to another is Ahsoka Tano. The former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker and the rare Jedi to leave the Order in the animated show Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka will make her live-action debut in the spin-off series. She is set to be portrayed by Rosario Dawson.

Timothy Olyphant has been cast in an unknown role, though speculation is rife that he is playing a fellow Mandalorian.

Among favorites from Season 1, we know that Carano is back as Cara Dune, but we hope to see more of Greef Karga (Carl Weathers). The central villain will be Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), an Imperial who has control of the ancient Mandalorian weapon, the Darksaber.

The first season of The Mandalorian has been touted as some of the best TV of the past year. While the show had outstanding moments and episodes, there are still many improvements to be made. Will the showrunners live up to those expectations in Season 2?
