Fox has finally revealed a premiere date for 9-1-1 Season 4!

After months of anticipating and waiting, Fox has finally revealed that its biggest shows will premiere in January 2021, including 9-1-1 Season 4, 9-1-1: Lone Star, Prodigal Son, and The Resident. According to TVLine, the specific premiere dates in January have not yet been announced, but what days of the week they will have.

Mondays will be allotted for 9-1-1 Season 4 and 9-1-1: Lone Star at 8 PM and 9 PM, respectively, while Tuesdays will be reserved for The Resident and The Prodigal Son. Despite the delays in production due to COVID-19, Fox has been surprisingly been able to manage an impressively packed schedule for the start of the year.

In terms of casting for 9-1-1 Season 4, there have been some changes, specifically John Harlan Kim being promoted to a series regular role. Kim plays the role of Chimney’s brother, Albert, and it appears that this change will result in him having a bigger role in Chimney’s life moving forward.

As far as 9-1-1: Lone Star goes, the series is swapping out Liv Tyler for Gina Torres as COVID-19 made it difficult for Tyler to travel from London to Los Angeles for filming.

9-1-1 Season 4: What can we expect from the new season?

More from FOX

At the conclusion of the third season, life was heading in a very serious direction for Chimney (Kenneth Choi) and Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) who are expecting a baby together. Their relationship has had its fair share of drama and pain, so it will be a welcome change to see them embark on this new (hopefully happy) journey together.

Fans are hopeful that 9-1-1 Season 4 could be the one that potentially brings a crossover with 9-1-1: Lone Star. How and when that would take place is unclear given both take place in different states storywise, but perhaps a character from Lone Star will make the trek to Los Angeles for some reason and provide his or her assistance during an emergency.

We may see more of Bobby’s (Peter Krause) complicated backstory as he and Athena (Angela Bassett) continue to settle into their marriage. Given the nature of his past, there is always room for some unexpected trauma to pop up and this may very well be the season for it.
