Curon Season 1, Episode 4, features a fire festival, a fire, another doppelganger attack, and fractured family moments.

Curon Season 1, Episode 4 begins with some blood in the cabin. The question is, does it belong to Anna Raina (Valeria Bilello), and was Albert (Alessandro Tedeschi) the one to spill it? Meanwhile, Anna’s son, Mauro (Federico Russo), believes she is still alive. “Grandpa” Thomas (Luca Lionello) tells Mauro and Daria (Margherita Morchio) that he found their mother’s vehicle crashed.

As an interesting development, Daria and Mauro’s father, Pietro (Giulio Cristini), shows the Raina hotel. Thomas promptly threatens him with a shotgun, suggesting a bad history between them. Pietro promises that he’s clean and sober and that he won’t make a scene. Obviously, though, Thomas does not trust him much at all.

This episode familiarizes us with Michael Ober (Max Malatesta), a hater of the Rainas who offers to help Albert’s family in the church (later, he says, “The lake won’t be placated until the last of the Raina’s is in the ground.”

Ober says the Rainas have already destroyed Curon once, implying that the family’s mere presence brings bad fortune. Moments later, Lukas’s evil doppelganger (Luca Castellano) apologizes to Micki (Juju Di Domenico) for his pathetic behavior earlier and invites her to the pub for drinks later.

In the following scene, Daria and Micki argue about the bloodsoaked cabin, and Micki defends Albert against allegations of him being a murderer. As this goes on, we learn that Lukas’s father (Giuseppe Gandini) owns a liquor store, and Lukas threatens someone in the restroom to make help steal alcohol from the store later on. If that’s not enough, the imposter Lukas goes home to poison his father’s cherished cat, then shrugs it off like it’s nothing, saying, “I’m sure you’ll get over this terrible loss”!

Micki and her brother, Giulio (Giulio Brizzi), take it upon themselves to visit the cabin where Anna Raina may have been killed. When they see the blood themselves, the gravity of the situation sets in. In fact, they even call their mother (Anna Ferzetti), though her response is noncommittal. As these events unfold, we witness the somewhat spooky Curon “Fire Festival,” with citizens marching quietly in the dark with candles, holding up a few statues.

Getting back to Mauro and Daria, Pietro visits them, forcing the snobby bartender to give them some juice. Pietro also insists that he never hit Anna, but he had pushed Mauro during an argument with her, causing him to hit his head and lose his hearing. He says he left out of shame
and apologizes. Mauro understandably leaves, and Daria sets out looking for him soon after.

Curon then returns to Lukas’s weird doppelganger, who tells Micki he’s in love with her. When Micki says she’s only attracted to girls, Lukas gets evil and begins attacking her. This is where Mauro swoops in and thwarts his disgusting efforts. Meanwhile, as this scene plays out, the Fire Festival flashes a lot of devilish imagery, suggesting something supernatural in the air.

Micki then tells Mauro that Lukas claimed his own lookalike hunted him down, not many days before this attack. Then, as if on cue, we see Lukas walking away from a burning building, smiling with delight over what he’s accomplished. He set fire to the Raina hotel! Daria and Mauro then see Anna, though it’s not clear if she’s real or some strange apparition. Then, grandpa Thomas seems to suffer some sort of attack.
