Julianna Margulies joins Season 2 of The Morning Show

Julianna Margulies will star in The Morning Show Season 2 alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.
According to an exclusive report from Variety, The Good Wife star Julianna Margulies has joined the cast of The Morning Show Season 2. Margulies will play an anchor at UBA News named Laura Peterson. She will join several other new and returning faces for the acclaimed series’s second go-round.
Aside from Aniston and Witherspoon, The Morning Show Season 2 will star Mark Duplass, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Karen Puttman, Hasan Minhaj, Greta Lee, Ruairi O’Connor and Nestor Carbonell.

As Variety points out, Margulies is one of the most sought-after and acclaimed actresses working today. Throughout her career, she has been nominated for ten Emmy Awards and won three for her work on The Good Wife and ER.
She has also been nominated for 12 Golden Globe Awards. After The Good Wife ended, Margulies went on to work on projects like Billions and the National Geographic series The Hot Zone — which was recently renewed for a second season.
The outlet doesn’t give any further information on who Margulies’s character is or what her arc will be across the show’s sophomore season. Considering the series is Apple TV Plus’s flagship series, and Margulies is a well-respected television actress, we can safely assume it’ll be something significant and juicy.
For those who haven’t tuned into the series just yet, it stars Aniston and Witherspoon as anchors on a morning news show and focuses on the show’s behind-the-scenes turmoil.
Margulies’s casting serves as another big get for Apple’s streaming service, which recently cast Kate Hudson in Truth Be Told Season 2 and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in an upcoming psychological thriller series titled Surface.
