Is there a new episode of Big Sky on tonight, Dec. 22?
By Mads Lennon
There is no new episode of Big Sky ABC airing tonight, December 22.
Big Sky ABC has proven to be a hit with viewers in a sparse fall television season. Originally ordered for only ten episodes, the network has since extended its first season to 16 episodes in total. That’s a good sign for its future. Based on the Highway Quartet book series by C.J. Box, there is potential for Big Sky to keep running for a few more seasons.
As of December 15, only five episodes of Big Sky have aired, and in those five episodes — a lot of shocking twists and turns have happened already, including the potential death of two significant characters. With the holidays coming up, it’s that sad time of year where shows go on hiatus for a few weeks, so fans will have to wait and see how things shake out for Cassie and the kidnapped girls for a little while.
When will Big Sky ABC return from the winter hiatus?
Last week’s episode, “A Good Day to Die,” ended with a massive cliffhanger, so it’s understandable that viewers want to know when they’ll get answers! According to Newsweek, the return date has been set for Tuesday, January 26. The next episode doesn’t have a title or synopsis just yet, but you can expect it to return to its usual timeslot of 10 p.m. ET/PT. We should have more information on what’s to come by early January, I suspect.
With only five episodes airing so far, there are at least 11 episodes left to go for the first season of Big Sky ABC. I’m guessing we’ll have at least one more significant hiatus come spring.
Newsweek also noted that Big Sky has been paired with two of ABC’s comedy series for Tuesday, Black-ish and Mixed-ish, which is an interesting duo to be certain. Hopefully, that strange combination of comedies leading into a thriller won’t affect the ratings too much.
You can catch up on Big Sky ABC before its January 26 return right now on the ABC app or Hulu.
