High Maintenance Season 5 not happening at HBO

HBO has opted not to move forward with High Maintenance Season 5.
TVLine has confirmed that HBO will not be moving forward with the anthology comedy-drama series High Maintenance Season 5. The news comes almost a full year after the fourth season finale aired.
Throughout its four-season run, High Maintenance was praised by critics for being an authentic look at New York and a surprisingly moving story about The Guy, a marijuana dealer played by Sinclair. As an anthology, High Maintenance focused on different stories about people in the city.
Why isn’t High Maintenance returning?
According to an official statement from HBO, the series co-creators Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair need a break from the show and are looking forward to working on new projects.

Given how long it took for HBO to confirm or deny whether or not High Maintenance Season 5 would eventually air on the network, this news doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The series has had a substantial life, however, as it initially started out as a web series on Vimeo.
In November 2012, the series kicked off with 19 online episodes before transitioning to HBO in September 2016 and running for an additional 34 episodes and extending its format to 30-minutes.
Where can you watch High Maintenance?
If you’ve never seen High Maintenance, you can watch the series at any time on HBO Now or HBO Max. All four seasons are available to stream. The original Vimeo episodes are also available to watch via HBO.
