Miss Scarlet and The Duke is finally making its way to American television tonight on PBS. Created by Rachael New and starring Kate Phillips and Stuart Martin as a pair of Victorian investigators, this British-Irish period crime television drama is can’t-miss television!
Set in Victorian London, the series follows Eliza Scarlet (Phillips) in the wake of her father’s death. Left penniless, she resolves to continue her father’s detective agency. But due to the restrictions on women at the time, Eliza realizes she needs to team up with a male partner to operate in the world of crime-solving. Enter known philanderer Detective Inspector William Wellington (Martin), also known as the Duke.

The first episode of the highly-anticipated series is title “Inheritance,” and the official synopsis is as follows:
"Eliza Scarlet goes to work as a private detective to get out of debt. Luckily, a family friend is willing to help."
When does Miss Scarlet and The Duke Episode 1 come out?
The premiere episode of this new crime drama will air tonight, January 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, with new episodes releasing every Friday through late February.
When will new episodes of Miss Scarlet and The Duke air on PBS?
According to the official PBS Masterpiece scheduled for 2021, new episodes of the six-part crime drama are scheduled to release on Sunday nights throughout the next several weeks.
