When does Kate Winslet’s Mare of Easttown debut on HBO?
By Mads Lennon
Kate Winslet is returning to television for an upcoming limited series on HBO titled Mare of Easttown. This seven-part series will premiere this April on HBO and also be available to stream on HBO Max. Previously, the Academy Award, Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress starred in HBO’s other hit miniseries, Mildred Pierce.
Mare of Easttown stems from creator and writer Brad Ingelsby (The Way Back), while Craig Zobel, whose previous credits include The Leftovers, Westworld, and more, has directed all seven episodes.
Winslet plays a small-town Pennsylvania detective named Mare Sheehan. Mare gets roped into investigating a local murder while her own life threatens to crumble around her. According to the official press release from HBO, the series is meant to be an “exploration into the dark side of a close community and an authentic examination of how family and past tragedies can define our present.”
