What time will Genera+ion Season 1 premiere on HBO Max?
By Mads Lennon
The new HBO Max dramedy series aimed at teens and Generation Z is premiering tonight on the new streaming service. Genera+ion Season 1 will premiere with three episodes on Thursday, March 11 with new episodes continuing to air weekly after that.
Based on the initial photos and trailer for the series, it looks like Genera+ion is the HBO Max counterpart to Euphoria, which is still off the air for the foreseeable future, although we should be getting an update on the Season 2 release date sometime soon.
Genera+ion will debut with three, half-hour episodes starting tomorrow (or late tonight if you’re eager and want to stay up and watch!) and then two new episodes will drop on March 18, followed by two more on March 25, before a single finale episode on April 1.
The second half of the season, containing an additional eight episodes, will debut later this year.
According to the official HBO Max press release, Genera+ion Season 1 is a “dark yet playful” teen drama following a “diverse group of high school students whose exploration of modern sexuality (devices and all) tests deeply entrenched beliefs about life, love and the nature of family in their conservative community.”
The ensemble cast includes Nathanya Alexander, Chloe East, Nava Mau, Lukita Maxwell, Haley Sanchez, Uly Schlesinger, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Chase Sui Wonders with Justice Smith and Martha Plimpton. Recurring guest stars include J. August Richards, Mary Birdsong, Alicia Coppola, Patricia De Leon, Diego Josef, Anthony Kevyan, Sydney Mae Diaz, John Ross Bowie, Marwan Salama, Marisela Zumbado and Sam Trammell.
HBO is also launching a companion podcast called Generation: The Podcast that you can listen to along with watching new episodes!
What time will the first three episodes of Genera+ion Season 1 be available?
New content is typically uploaded to HBO Max at 12 a.m. PST, meaning it won’t be available on EST until 3 a.m., which is typical of most streaming services.
