When will Big Sky Season 1 return with new episodes?
By Mads Lennon
Fans of Big Sky ABC are no stranger to lengthy hiatuses between episodes. Even though the ABC crime drama is only in its first season, viewers have already had to patiently wait several weeks between installments.
The first hiatus occurred over winter break and the latest, and longest, hiatus has been ongoing since February with no end in sight until April!
Sadly for fans of the breakout series, that hiatus won’t be ending for a few more weeks. Preempting the usual Big Sky timeslot of 10 p.m. on ABC is the six-part ABC News docuseries Soul of a Nation, an exploration of life in America for Black people that focuses on injustice and racism, but also Black art, joy and activism. Tonight is the fourth episode of the series.
ABC ordered additional episodes of Big Sky not long after the show debuted. So the reason for the long hold-up is likely a combination of the writers needing to finish the additional episodes, film them and polish production –– and that’s on top of any slowdowns caused by the ongoing pandemic and the extra safety measures.
What will happen on Big Sky ABC when the show finally returns?
When we last left off with Big Sky, Ronald had escaped. While Cassie and Jenny will still be focused on hunting him down with the series returns, they’ll also have a significant new mystery to focus on that will include a host of new characters. Expect to see more danger, more twists and some exciting new developments!
