Bridgerton Season 2 Cast: Who’s In and Who’s Out
While Netflix’s Bridgerton Season 2 release date remains a mystery this news certainly is not. Looks like Bridgerton has cast Kate’s sister Edwina, we’ll meet a nobleman Jack, and it seems the charming Simon Basset will not be appearing in Season 2.
Let’s dive into this! First the good news!
Actress Charithra Chandran from the Alex Rider TV series has been cast as Edwina, Kate’s sister. Depending on how close the show will stick to the books, Kate (Simone Ashley from TV Series Sex Education and TV Mini-Series The Sister), Edwina and Anthony Bridgerton find themselves in a love triangle of sorts.
It appears Anthony wants to marry Edwina however Kate doesn’t like the idea. When Anthony tries to convince Kate otherwise the two begin to develop feelings for each other.
New characters have been cast while one will not be returning in the upcoming Season 2 of Bridgerton.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out and who fans will want to see Anthony with.
Actor Rupert Young from the TV series Merlin and the recent film The Secret Garden has been cast as Jack. Jack will be a new addition to the show as he does not appear in the books.
How will his appearance shake things up? Now on to the bad news.
Fans will not be seeing Simon Basset, The Duke of Hastings next season. An announcement that even Lady Whistledown made herself.
What does this mean? Well, for those who probably saw this coming, Season 2 will not be focused on Daphne and Simon but instead Anthony Bridgerton.
Now that he is no longer pursuing Siena Rosso it will be time for him to find love as he also made clear in the Season 1 Finale. Just because Simon won’t appear this upcoming season does not mean we won’t be seeing him again.
There surely will have to be future opportunities for him to return to the world of glamour, gossip, and gallantry.
