We’ve got some super exciting news for fans of the Cinemax series Warrior! HBO Max has officially ordered Warrior Season 3 and it will be moving to the streaming service.

The news comes as a surprise because, despite the show’s excellent reviews and consistent critical acclaim, Warrior isn’t as well-known as it deserves to be. Much of that can be attributed to its former home at Cinemax, which isn’t nearly as popular as its sister channel HBO. Plus, Cinemax is basically dead now, for all intents and purposes.

Either way, moving Warrior to HBO Max is a fantastic decision by the executives and I’m sure fans are going to be delighted by the news.

In honor of this transition, HBO Max dropped a fun cast announcement video where some of the show’s stars thanked fans for helping them return, noting that it wouldn’t have happened without their devotion and dedication.

When will Warrior Season 3 premiere on HBO Max?

The first two seasons of the series are already streaming on HBO Max, so if you haven’t seen the show yet or you watch to rewatch before the new season comes out, you can do so right now!

As for when we can expect Warrior Season 3 to start streaming, it likely won’t be until late this year or maybe early 2022. The second season debuted in October 2020, so it’s possible Season 3 might come out this fall, but hard to give a solid estimate just yet.

“Warrior introduced viewers to a distinct world from the past, executed with dynamic action and relevant storytelling, with a brilliant cast led by Andrew Koji. We can’t wait to see what [executive producers] Jonathan [Tropper], Justin [Lin] and Shannon [Lee] will bring to the next chapter of this series on HBO Max,” Casey Bloys, Chief Content Officer for HBO and HBO Max said in a statement, per TVLine.

For those unfamiliar with the show, it is based during the Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the late 19th century and inspired by writing from martial arts icon Bruce Lee.
