6. Girls5eva

Girls5eva is another new Peacock TV gem that just recently premiered and nabbed a rare, perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes. But because of its home on Peacock, I fear that the show is going to get overlooked, which is really sad because it’s amazing and hilarious. As the title suggests, the series follows a group of women who once formed the ’90s girl band Girls5eva but have since fallen out of touch after they fizzled out and became a mostly forgotten one-hit-wonder.

But then a new rapper gives them a chance at a reunion when he samples their hit single in his new song, reuniting the girls to sing back-up during a Tonight Show performance. Starring Busy Philipps, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell and Sara Bareilles, there is so much to love about this show which is why I had to add it to this list of best new shows!

5. Mythic Quest

Again, Mythic Quest might technically not belong on this list of best new shows because it just started airing its second season, but I’m going to add it anyway because it’s airing a NEW season. Plus, I think Mythic Quest is super underrated and it’s disappointing that yet another Rob McElhenney project might go largely ignored by critics and award ceremonies, but I digress. Again, Mythic Quest has received excellent scores on Rotten Tomatoes but since it’s airing on Apple TV+ it’s not as well-known.

I also debated adding Ted Lasso here because it’s another fantastic Apple TV+ comedy, but Ted Lasso has finally broken out of its underratedness and even scored star Jason Sudeikis a Golden Globe. Here’s hoping something similar can happen for Mythic Quest! Mythic Quest follows the team working on the biggest multiplayer video game of all time, but most of their biggest battles occur behind the scenes, in the office.
