HBO sets July premiere date for its star-studded series The White Lotus

The White Lotus Season 1 is officially scheduled to premiere this July on HBO. The upcoming six-episode limited series from Mike White (Enlightened) will air Sunday, July 11 from 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The series will air on HBO and also be available to stream via HBO Max.

You’ll recognize a lot of familiar faces in the upcoming series which stars everyone from Connie Britton to Jennifer Coolidge. The entire cast list includes Murray Bartlett, Alexandra Daddario, Fred Hechinger, Jake Lacy, Brittany O’Grady, Sydney Sweeney, Natasha Rothwell and Steve Zahn.

Throughout The White Lotus Season 1 you’ll also see some fun recurring guest stars like Molly Shannon, Jon Gries, Jolene Purdy, Kekoa Kekumano and Lukas Gage.

The series starts as a peek at a relaxing and rejuvenating week for several hotel guests at The White Lotus resort, but as the days pass, a darker complexity emerges and things start to go sideways for the travelers.

Based on the synopsis, the new series actually sounds similar to Hulu’s upcoming adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s book, Nine Perfect Strangers, which will star Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy.

One thing The White Lotus should be good for is an escape, for all of us. Of course, we can’t all be whisked away to the beautiful island of Maui at a moment’s notice but the cast and crew did film on location there, meaning the cinematography and production value should be breathtaking.

Who is who in The White Lotus Season 1?

As for who all these amazing actors are playing? Here’s a quick rundown of who is playing who in the upcoming limited series.

  • Murray Bartlett stars as the resort manager, Armond, who is in the middle of a downward spiral after a sudden trauma
  • Natasha Rothwell plays a down-to-earth spa manager taken on an emotional roller coaster ride by a needy guest
  • The Mossbacher family consists of Nicole (Connie Britton) a type-A executive, her husband Mark (Steve Zahn), their teenaged son, Quinn (Fred Hechinger) and their daughter, Olivia (Sydney Sweeney), Olivia also brings her friend Paula (Brittany O’Grady) along
  • Jake Lacy plays the handsome, entitled Shane Patton who is vacationing with his bridge Rachel (Alexandra Daddario), and Shane’s intrusive mother Kitty (Molly Shannon) shows up to ruin their honeymoon
  • Then there is Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge) a wealthy and unstable woman looking for love
