HBO Max sets May premiere date for Friends reunion, announces surprise guests

HBO Max has some big Friends reunion news to share today! Not only has the streaming service announced a May premiere date for the special, but they also released an official teaser and revealed a slate of exciting guest stars who will make an appearance during the show.
For those who might be out of the loop, the upcoming Friends reunion will see the hit sitcom’s original cast returning for an unscripted special on the original Stage 24, the very same soundstage where the cast filmed all ten seasons of the successful show all those years ago.
The group includes Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. Everyone is back! As for what to expect, given what the cast has teased so far, it sounds like there are bound to be some fun surprises in store!
When does the Friends reunion premiere?
The Friends reunion will officially premiere on Thursday, May 27 on HBO Max. It’s the one-year anniversary of the streaming service’s launch, so that seems very fitting! As Variety noted, all 10 seasons of Friends left Netflix for HBO Max in a deal rumored to have cost WarnerMedia over $400 million.
Who are the guest stars coming to the Friends reunion?
Show Snob has learned the reunion will feature a variety of guests including David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai.
It’s not yet clear what the guests will be doing on the show. I’m assuming they’re going to discuss how the series has impacted them over the years. Some, like Witherspoon, even guest-starred on the show when it was airing. Witherspoon and Aniston have also remained friends, even going on to star in Apple TV+ Original The Morning Show together.
