Refresh your knowledge of the show before Love, Victor Season 2 premieres
Love, Victor Season 2 is officially dropping Friday, June 11 on Hulu. All ten episodes of the new season will drop simultaneously, similar to the streaming service’s season one schedule. Love, Victor is a spin-off series from the acclaimed 2018 film Love, Simon, which starred Nick Robinson in the title role as a teenager struggling to come to terms with his sexuality.
In the series, Victor Salazar (Michael Cimino) takes over as the lead character as he tries to figure out how to tell his friends and family that he’s gay. Since Victor is a newcomer to Creekwood High School, he reaches out to Simon for advice. Throughout the season, the two strike up a friendship, culminating with Victor visiting Simon and his boyfriend Bram Greenfeld (Keiynan Lonsdale) in New York on a “boys trip.”
Victor finally mustered the courage to come out to his parents at the end of the first season, but the episode ended on a big cliffhanger with a tight close-up of Victor’s face, meaning we didn’t get to see his family’s reaction to the news. Ahead of Season 2, here are some important plot points from the first season that you’ll want to remember before you dive into the next ten episodes!
5. Victor & Benji kissed at the Spring Fling, and Mia saw it happen
One of the other pivotal moments at the end of the first season occurred when Victor took his girlfriend, Mia Brooks (Rachel Hilson), to the Spring Fling dance. Victor wanted to give Mia one more perfect night before telling her the truth about his sexuality.
Before Victor got the chance to tell Mia, he ran into Benji Campbell (George Sear) –– who had just broken up with his boyfriend for Victor –– and the two wound up kissing. While it was great to see Victor and Benji finally get together, it came at the cost of hurting Mia, who witnessed the entire thing happen.
Mia wound up leaving the dance with Andrew (Mason Gooding), who happens to have a crush on her. So going into Love, Victor Season 2, hopefully, Victor and Mia can make amends and be good friends even if they are no longer romantically involved. And based on the trailer, it seems like Mia and Andrew might have some romantic obstacles of their own to face this season.
