The upcoming Sex and the City revival at HBO Max is finally getting underway with several original cast members now set to return for the 10-episode season, which is officially titled And Just Like That…, TVLine has learned.

Even the original showrunner, Michael Patrick King, is looking forward to reconnecting with the original actors.

“Everyone at ‘And Just Like That…’ is thrilled to be able to continue the storylines of these beloved ‘Sex and the City’ characters with the actors who made them so lovable,” said King.

The half-hour revival series will start production in New York this summer and will explore the friendships between these beloved characters as they navigate their 50s. Since production is starting this summer, it’s possible that we might get to see the Sex and the City revival air as early as this fall or winter, although I think an early 2022 release is more likely.

Who is returning for the Sex and the City revival?

You can expect all the original leading ladies to return –– sans one. Cynthia Nixon is back as Miranda, Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie and Kristin Davis is reprising her role as Charlotte. Sadly, you shouldn’t expect Kim Cattrall to return as Samantha.

In the most recent report from TVLine, HBO Max has announced the return of four more original cast members in David Eigenberg (Steve Brady), Willie Garson (Stanford Blatch), Mario Cantone (Anthony Marentino) and Evan Handler (Harry Goldenblatt).

Apart from those four men and the ladies, it was previously announced that Mr. Big himself, Chris North, would also be returning, although it’s not clear what’s going on between him and Carrie at the moment. John Corbett has also said he would come back to play Aidan Shaw again, although that hasn’t been officially confirmed.
