Milo Ventimiglia reunites with Gilmore Girls boss for Marvelous Ms. Maisel Season 4

Big news for Gilmore Girls fans and fans of The Marvelous Ms. Maisel, Jess Mariano himself, Milo Ventimiglia is reuniting with Gilmore Girls boss Amy Sherman-Palladino for a stint on the Amazon Prime series. Ventimiglia will stop by The Marvelous Ms. Maisel Season 4 for a secretive guest role.

TVLine confirmed the news earlier today after chatting with an Amazon rep, although no details were given about who Ventimiglia would play, how many episodes he’ll be in, or whether there is a chance he could stick around for longer than a guest arc.

Since the actor’s current hit show, This Is Us, will be coming to an end with its upcoming sixth and final season, it’s possible that he could wind up becoming a full-time member of The Marvelous Ms. Maisel in the future, but it’s much too early to tell right now.

TVLine also noted that Sherman-Palladino “foreshadowed the reunion” a few years ago while chatting with Variety. Apparently, there were discussions even back then about inviting Ventimiglia to guest on the series. Many fans have been hoping that Lauren Graham would one day appear on the show, but this might be the next best thing!

“It’s got to be the right part. It can’t be just a cameo. It’s got to have some meat to it. And it’s also got to be a time when he can shave and cut his hair into a 1950s-period look. But the reuniting will definitely happen,” the showrunner said at the time.

When will The Marvelous Ms. Maisel Season 4 premiere on Amazon Prime?

As for when we’ll get to see the actor appear on the award-winning series, we don’t have a release date just yet. The show’s production was delayed for almost a year due to the pandemic.

Everyone just got back to work this past January and it’s still filming right now under new restrictions and protocols. Supposedly there will be some tweaks to the season, such as the usage of visual effects since there are some big crowd scenes they’re unable to film right now. Hopefully, we’ll get a premiere date later this summer.
