We have the first official look at Titans Season 3 with a new teaser trailer! The HBO Max series continues to be dark, gritty, and full of suspense.

The official Titans Twitter page had announced that a teaser trailer would be dropping soon, and it looks like DC and HBO Max didn’t disappoint.

TVLine reported the trailer’s release along with a release date for the new season. HBO Max viewers will have access to the first three episodes of the show on August 12, 2021, with subsequent episodes being released weekly till October 21.

While Season 1 of the show included 11 episodes, Season 2 was beefed up to 13, a format that this third season will also be following.

Titans Season 3: What Can We Expect to See?

As was announced during the DC FanDome event last year, Titans Season 3 will see the team move back to Gotham City. This will also give them the opportunity to meet familiar villains and make new allies.

Though not explicitly stated in the teaser trailer, the Titans will be coming up against Dr Jonathan Crane, aka Scarecrow. Entertainment Weekly shared images of Vincent Kartheiser as Crane, as well as a first look at Savannah Welch’s Commissioner Barbara Gordon.

However, the trailer also included the familiar uncanny cackle of the Joker as well as carnival-related imagery that has often been associated with the Batman villain. The Joker has been out-of-commission on the show, but could this mean he is returning to Titans Season 3?

Curran Walters’ Jason Todd will become Red Hood on Titans Season 3 /

We also get a brief glimpse of Red Hood, the new mantle taken on by Curran Walters’ Jason Todd, who ended Season 2 disillusioned with his team. In the DC Comics, Jason was murdered by the Joker and once resurrected, made it his mission to avenge himself as the Red Hood. Perhaps that will be the Joker connection?

In the trailer, Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing (Brenton Thwaites), talks about heroes being killed in a place like Gotham. This could be another nod to Red Hood’s arrival, or could portend doom for another one of the heroes.

We get brief glimpses of the other Titans team members, including Anna Diop’s Koriand’r/ Starfire, Ryan Potter’s Gar Logan/ Beast Boy, Joshua Orpin’s Conner Kent/ Superboy, as well as Hank Hall/ Hawk and Dawn Granger/ Dove, played by Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly.

Iain Glen is back as Bruce Wayne in the teaser trailer, which is not a surprise considering the setting. Teagan Croft is also set to return as Rachel Roth/ Raven, along with Conor Leslie as Donna Troy. Joining the cast will be the third Robin, Tim Drake, played by Jay Lycurgo.
