2. Genera+ion Season 1, Episodes 6 and 7 — The Trip

It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. Although we all know how the motel played out (I, for one, still yell at the TV screen whenever I see Riley go into Luz’s room), the trip was still chock-full of some of the best Luoreno moments of the season.

Despite getting off to somewhat of a rocky start with Nathan convincing Riley to sit by him on the bus, nothing can keep these two apart for long. When they find themselves at different tables during lunch, Riley sends Greta a text saying she misses her from across the restaurant. The two eventually find their way back to each other on the bus, sharing headphones and listening to music.

And who could forget the typical teen antics of sneaking down to steal a bottle of wine from the motel lobby together…and then promptly proceeding to drop it in the pool? The crew may not have made it to San Francisco like they planned, but where they ended up turned out to be much more exciting.

1. Genera+ion Season 1, Episode 16 — The Valentine’s Day Party

This one probably doesn’t come as a surprise! After several agonizing episodes of being interrupted at every turn (why, Luz and Megan, why?!), Riley and Greta finally get to talk. And wow, do they talk. The motel is finally addressed, and Greta explains why she reacted the way she did — she can like someone a lot and still not want to be physically intimate with them. Riley, stunned that Greta has literally just run into her arms, is supportive, and the two reconcile.

But that’s not all. Greta even says those three magic words: I love you. And Riley says them back without any hesitation. Swoon.

We still don’t know if Greta knows about Luz yet, but that’s a question we’ll have to wait until season two to answer. Fingers crossed HBO renews it — and soon!
