Motherland: Fort Salem Season 2, Episode 5 recap: Brianna’s Favorite Pencil

In the previous episode of Motherland: Fort Salem, Tally confronts Alder about her past. Will Tally get the answers she wants out of Alder? How will Alder explain this away?

Episode 5 begins with Adil and Khalida on a train to India. Khalida wants to know what the military wants in return for keeping them safe.

Just then, the general drinks a poison drink. Adil and Khalida run, but the poison is consuming the train.

The train derails. Did Khalida and Adil make it out alive?

Alder is listening to music with Tally. She wants Tally to sit down and to know how Tally knows about the hidden solder, Nicte. Alder claims not to have been in Liberia.

Tally calls her bluff. Alder tries to explain herself. She basically tells Tally that she had hidden the truth to protect her pride. Tally is obviously upset by this answer.

Alder then tells Tally that Izadora will give her something to sever their connection completely.

Raelle confronts Anacostia in the hallway and asks her if she knew that Scylla had escaped. Anacostia denies knowing anything about this.

When Raelle shows Anacostia the picture, Anacostia says that she can’t tell her anything.

Back at Willa’s house, a man named Jonah is off on a mission for The Spree. He calls Scylla soft and weak for not wanting to go on any missions. Where is Jonah off to?

Abigail is up and still upset about the attack in the garage. She still can’t believe she walked into the Camarilla’s trap.

Tally and Raelle are eating. Tally has been given the “medicine” to separate herself from Alder. Gregorio comes up and asks Abigail how she is doing.

She thinks he is referring to her attack, but he is referring to the attack on the train.

He tells Abigail what happened. This adds fuel to her fire.

Alder and Petra are talking about the train attack in Alder’s office. Izadora is on her way to the site to collect samples.

Silver had called Alder. Silver is postponing the testing sites because of “the spree” attack.

Anacostia and Scylla are out and about on Halloween. They meet up with Shane and Bonnie. Bonnie is going to take her daughter trick-or-treating. Shane is going with them somewhere.

Abigail is in combat training and is feeling defeated. Raelle and Tally are concerned for her. Abigail runs outside, and the girls go after her.

Tally and Raelle want to go home with Abigail for fall break. Abigail doesn’t want them to come in fear that they will not be safe.

Just then, soldiers come out with burning sticks and head into the woods. Gregorio tells the girls to be quiet, and they follow along.

Alder is burning tape in a larger bonfire. There are mini flames all around her.

The rest of the cadets make their own bonfire. They are there to wake the dead.

They have to keep their fire burning until midnight. If they win, they get to speak to a dead witch of their choosing.

Scylla and Anacostia are attending a Camarilla event with Shane. Scylla realizes that they can not use their powers there.

When they ask how Shane got his name on the list for the event, he says that he provided a gift. Anacostia and Scylla want to know what it is, but they will find out soon.

Abigail, Tally, and Raelle are protecting themselves and fire from incoming arrows. They all decide who they want to speak to at the end of the night.

Tally wants to talk to someone from Alder’s past, Abigail wants to speak to a relative, and Raelle wants to talk to her mom.

The only problem is Raelle’s mother isn’t dead.

Scylla and Anacostia are watching the event. The man on stage is a man from the testing center. He is announcing that they will complete a Halloween ritual for the first time in a long time.

It turns out that the gift Shane has given Camarilla is the little girl, Tiffany. They are going to kill her.

Jack sees Anacostia and Scylla moving through the crowd.

While protecting the fire, Gregorio gets hit by an arrow.

Raelle is able to heal Gregorio. She then runs into the field and uses her magic to protect the flame.

Anacostia goes into the basement. Jack follows her. She has to fight him without any witchcraft to cut the power.

Everyone is being handed a rock to kill Tiffany. Scylla steps up and confesses that she is Spree. She gets the attention on her. Anacostia cuts the power, and Scylla can use her powers.

She is able to kill the man on stage and protect Tiffany.

Everyone has succeeded tonight.

M is handing out candles to each of the coven members. They have until the candle burns out to talk to the dead witch of their choosing.

They all start to light their candles and say the names of the people they would like to talk to.

Tally and Abigail start to talk to their ghosts, but Raelle’s never comes.

Tally learns the truth. This woman surrendered to Alder, and Alder killed them anyway.

All of their candles burn out.

Motherland: Fort Salem: Will Raelle learn that her mom is still alive?

The girls join each other after they visit with their ghosts. Raelle recounts all of the things she wishes she could tell her mother. Raelle leaves to pack for break.

Abigail has come back guns blazing. She wants blood. Tally warns her not to rush into anything.

Petra comes in, and Tally leaves. She has information about Adil.

Adil has made it back to Fort Salem. Abigail runs into his arms. Both he and Khalida have survived.

Adil and Abigail are going to join forces to hunt the Camarilla.

Bonnie and Shane are at home. Bonnie wants to know if he knows what happened to Tiffany. Bonnie then stabs Shane in the head. Is it really Bonnie?

Nope, it is Scylla.

As Scylla is leaving, she runs into the real Bonnie. She tells Bonnie to find something to live for. Bonnie doesn’t understand yet, but she will.

Is Anacostia and Scylla’s mission over? Will Scylla be able to see Raelle again? Will Raelle find out about her mother? What do you think? Leave a comment below.
