Before you settle in to watch the Ted Lasso Season 2 premiere, we’re offering a quick refresher on some of the important things that happened at the end of the show’s first season. There’s nothing more annoying than going into a new season and scratching your head at what’s happening because it has been so long since you watched the previous episodes!

Among the biggest changes in the show’s first finale was the fact AFC Richmond got relegated, something we’ll see the impact of immediately in the second season. The premiere starts off in the middle of a lackluster season for the team as they can’t seem to stop tying their opponents.

A quick Ted Lasso refresher ahead of Season 2

6. Nate is an assistant coach.

No more cleaning cleats and fetching water for Nate! Roy and Ted have officially promoted him to an assistant coach and based on what I’ve already seen of the second season, Nate is going to become a little obsessed with his new authority.

5. Roy and Keeley are going strong.

At the end of the first season, Roy and Keeley had finally gotten into a relationship! We’ll get to see that continue in the second season. Are things still smooth sailing for the couple? Make sure you keep watching to find out!

4. Keeley gets a new job.

Once a model and football girlfriend, now Keeley has proven herself as a savvy businesswoman and Rebecca promoted her to marketing chief.

3. AFC Richmond gets relegated.

As we mentioned, AFC Richmond sadly lost to Manchester City in the final seconds of the big game with Jamie scoring the winning goal, as if they needed to rub more salt in the wound. Season 2 will focus on AFC Richmond’s new status and whether they can climb their way back to the top.

2. Roy is retired.

It was an emotional season ending for Roy Kent as the veteran player officially walked off the field for the last time (at least, as a player), so what’s next for Roy? Will he enjoy his retirement in peace or will he find something else to occupy his time?

1. Rebecca refuses Ted’s resignation.

After the Manchester City game, Ted tries to formally resign. But Rebecca has come a long way from the conniving woman we met in the show’s premiere episode. She no longer cares about destroying the team to spite her husband. Rebecca is firmly on Ted’s side now and refuses to accept his resignation letter.
