While Nia tracks down the Dream Totem, Kara’s recent trauma catches up to her, and Nyxly gets some help in the latest episode of Supergirl Season 6.

Check out our recap of last week’s episode here!

The episode opens with Nia and Brainy making breakfast at their home. The two discuss how her transphobic sister abandoned her dad when he sided with Nia and her gender identity. Before she can take a bite of Brainy’s delicious spinach pancakes, Nia sees visions of Crippen University and the room of one Dr. M. Revée.

On Nyxly’s ship, she is examining the gift from her secret admirer and a reminiscent voice begins talking to her. The voice is Nyxly herself and proves it through sharing intimate details from her past. While the voice leaves things vague, it does promise success if Nyxly can retrieve the Dream Totem.

At The Tower, Alex explains that Kelly took Esme to fully experience the Olsen family. Since the totem situation seems to be finished, Alex might join them soon, and Kara is relieved that she might be able to focus on being a brilliant reporter. Her big plan is to have a sit-down interview with Kaznia and Corto Maltese’s diplomatic leaders to try and reach some common ground between the differing nations.

Supergirl Season 6, Episode 15: Nia finds some answers

Nia tracks down Dr. M Revée and this professor turns out to be her sister Maeve. Her sister tries to talk about the moment when she misgendered Nia, but the superhero in hiding does not want to hear any of it.

They discuss the Dream Totem, something Maeve is shocked to find out is real, and Maeve tells Nia that the totem is in the Dream Realm. There is too much general information that Nia needs to know to better understand how to find this totem. The two decide that it is best they both enter the Dream Realm to combine both of their assets.

William catches Kara researching for her interview, which includes watching an interview of one of the nation’s leaders at a much faster speed, and Kara agrees to his invitation to help with mock interviews.

Before they can do that, however, Nyxly is sighted and Kara must step away. At the National City Dream Institute, Nyxly hijacks a machine that allows someone to enter the Dream Realm. Along with the armor gift, Nyxly is able to use this machine and enter the Dream Realm while also unleashing a nightmare monster on National City for the Super Friends to deal with as she escapes.

Lena is able to use some old DEO tools to build a dome around half the city to prevent the monster from interacting with a nuclear plant. As the dome goes up, the monster goes invisible and this leads Supergirl and Martian Manhunter to search for the monster but they have no luck. Because of her mock interview with William, Kara lets Lena and Brainy handle figuring out how to send the monster back to the Dream Realm while Alex and J’onn continue searching for the nightmare monster.

Supergirl Season 6, Episode 15: The Super Friends’ image takes a blow

Kara and William practice interviewing with William playing the Kaznian leader. On a nearby television, there is news of the dome being a nuisance for National City. William actually takes the side against the Super Friends since folks have been prevented from going to work and parents have been separated from their kids. This is shocking to hear from Kara but she understands the concerns as long as folks know the Super Friends’ intentions are good.

Within the Dream Realm, Nia and Maeve have typical sister banter while Nia looks to possibly regret bringing her transphobic sister along. However, Maeve’s necklace, which was a gift from their mom to help guide her heir with her dreams, begins to glow. This allows the sisters to find a door into the Dream Expanse, the place that legend says the oracle hid the totem. They still do not know what it looks like, but they are now at least on the right path and close to finding it.

Nyxly has also found a way into the Dream Expanse and by the guide of the voice that came from her secret admirer’s gift, she is walking through. The Imp princess starts to feel like she is going in a circle and is about to turn around when a nightmare monster swings through. Out of fear for herself, Nyxly listens to the voice and eventually finds the path she should be on, and just ahead of her is Nia and Maeve. So now all Nyxly has to do is follow the sisters and strike when the totem is eventually found.

Supergirl Season 6, Episode 15: Kara struggles with her responsibilities

Back at The Tower, Alex and J’onn try to assure the governor of National City that the dome is protecting everyone, but the governor is not hearing it. The Super Friends are given 12 hours to solve the issue but it is far from the necessary time.

While Nia and Maeve get closer to finding the Dream Totem with a golden dream spire looking to be where they need to go, riots begin breaking out in National City out of fear of being stuck with the monster. Kara tries doing her best to calm things down but struggles to do so while also blowing off one of her reporter responsibilities.

Nia and Maeve eventually find the location they believe holds the Dream Totem and they enter, but not before Nia gets in her Dreamer attire. Within this location, Maeve makes a mad dash for the totem before being shunned away because she is not pure due to her transphobic comments directed to her own sister.

They have it out about this serious issue with Nia finally standing up for herself and saying she knows who she is, and she’s the Dreamer. Nyxly is able to sneak in because of the sister’s argument and Nia and the imp princess duel it out. Thanks to Maeve’s necklace, Dreamer puts down Nyxly. However, the villain still gets away thanks to her armor’s portal abilities.

Andrea calls her and scolds her about her inconsistent work ethic since Kara’s duties are split between reporter and Supergirl. Alex is there for her sister to reassure her that Kara and their friends will be able to do it all and win in the end.

William eventually comes up to The Tower and explains the human side of the argument over the dome and that is everyone is scared. He recommends that Kara gives a statement to the people to give them a sense of hope and protection. Kara has too much on her plate to give a statement and flies off.

After a battle with the monster, something that was harder than it had to be because of the National Guard intervening and distracting the monster, the Super Friends are eventually able to send the monster back to the dream realm. Kara ends up being late to the sit-down interview with the foreign diplomats and Andrea is understandably not happy with her employee.

This feeling of dread gets worse when she finds out that Nyxly escaped the Dream Realm with the totem. Kara is heartbroken about her recent failures since coming back from the Phantom Realm and after a talk with William, makes the decision to quit CatCo. She then goes to William as Supergirl and agrees to speak to the people of National City.

Supergirl Season 6, Episode 15: Nia knows who she is

Nia and Maeve return to Crippen University and Maeve tries to get her sister to forgive her for the pain Maeve caused. Rather than forgiving, Nia gives her one last chance to make up for everything so her sister knows how much pain she actually caused with her harmful words that led to them grieving their mother alone.

On her ship, Nyxly looks to be looking for some answers from this secret admirer’s gift. These answers come when she places the Dream Totem in the arm of the armor and one Lex Luthor makes his return since Supergirl season 6 returned from its pandemic hiatus.

What do you think of the duo of Lex and Nyxly? Do you think the Super Friends will be able to stop this new formidable duo? Let us know in the comments below!
