Why aren’t these 3 characters in The Morning Show season 2?

There’s no denying The Morning Show season 2 has a stacked cast. From big-name actors from season 1 like Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell to new characters played by Emmy winner Julianna Margulies and Russian Doll star Greta Lee, it’s one of the most star-studded ensembles on TV.

However, fans may be wondering where a few season 1 favorites are this season. Discover where pivotal season 1 actors like Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Bel Powley have disappeared to during The Morning Show season 2.

Why isn’t Hannah Shoenfeld in The Morning Show season 2?

Hannah Shoenfeld was a key player in The Morning Show season 1. An up-and-coming talent booker for the show, Hannah was intelligent, ambitious, and riveting. Gugu Mbatha-Raw got wide acclaim for her performance, as she was nominated for prestigious accolades like the Gold Derby TV and Black Reel Television Awards and won Artist of Distinction at the Newport Beach Film Festival.

Unfortunately, you won’t see Mbatha-Raw in The Morning Show season 2 due to her character’s tragic end in the season 1 finale. Shaken by Mitch’s assault and traumatized by the network’s reaction to it, Hannah died due to a drug overdose.

Will we see Hannah Shoenfeld in The Morning Show season 2? Due to her death, we likely will not see her again unless it’s through flashbacks. However, her family’s wrongful death lawsuit is a big storyline this season.

Why isn’t Claire Conway in The Morning Show season 2?

PA Claire Conway was another major part of The Morning Show season 1, especially when it came to her secret relationship with weatherman Yanko Flores. Actor Bel Powley also received rave reviews for her portrayal, winning the Breakout Honoree distinction at the Newport Beach Film Festival.

But we haven’t seen Powley in season 2, either. The combination of her complex relationship with Yanko, as well as the devastation from finding Hannah’s body, was ultimately too much for Claire. In season 2, we find out that Claire quit the show and moved back to England.

Will we see Claire Conway in The Morning Show season 2? Though there’s no word on if we’ll ever see Claire again, we’re not ruling it out completely. It would be interesting to see her and Yanko reunite, especially since he’s been going through some major struggles this season.

Why isn’t Jason Craig in The Morning Show season 2?

Jason Craig, played by Jack Davenport, is Alex Levy’s ex-husband. Though the pair were married for several decades, they ultimately drifted apart, and many of those years they stayed together solely to keep up public appearances.

Alex is in a much different place this season, first moving to the country and then struggling to come to terms with Maggie’s book, which may explain why we haven’t been seeing her ex.

Will we see Jason Craig in The Morning Show season 2? Though there’s been no official confirmation about whether he’ll be back, we wouldn’t be surprised if he made an appearance. Maggie’s book promises to shake things up for Alex in more ways than one, and once the news about her and Mitch breaks, it would make sense for her to have to reckon with her ex-husband.
